Founded in Hamburg in 2016, Sternglas makes Bauhaus-inspired watches on the argument that restraint ages better than decoration. The NAOS XL proves the point at scale: enlarge a busy dial and it becomes chaotic, but enlarge a reduced one and it simply becomes easier to read. Nothing was added here to justify the extra millimeters.

The white dial and date sit in a polished 316L stainless steel case of 42 mm, driven by an automatic movement, protected by a domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating and rated to 5 bar. The dark brown Premium leather strap fits the 20 mm lugs and is the most versatile of the leather options, dark enough for a suit and warm enough for a weekend.
