A watch you never have to open. The case stays sealed, the cell recharges from light, and the only maintenance is an occasional wipe of the bracelet.

Sternglas has worked from Hamburg since 2016 on the idea that good design should be usable rather than precious, and the NAOS is the line where that comes through hardest: reduced dial, geometric discipline, high contrast, slim case. The NAOS SOLAR brings an Epson AS32 solar quartz movement to that design, storing energy from sunlight and room light in a rechargeable cell and running up to four months on a full charge.

The white dial carries turquoise Luminova and a date, framed by a polished 316L stainless steel case of 38 mm and a domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating. Water resistance is 5 bar. The SuperSlim bracelet is stainless steel, not leather, 316L at 2.2 mm thick with a brushed steel clasp, in silver at the 20 mm lugs, giving a bright dial an equally bright surround.

The lowest-effort watch in the range, and one of the easiest to live with.
