Sternglas, founded in Hamburg in 2016, applies Bauhaus-inspired reduction across its range, and the NAOS is where the approach is purest: geometric layout, sans-serif type, nothing on the dial that does not aid reading it. The NAOS SOLAR keeps every part of that design and changes only the power source.

An Epson AS32 solar quartz movement sits behind a panel that draws energy from sunlight and indoor light alike, storing it in a rechargeable cell in place of a conventional battery. Fully charged, it runs up to four months without further light. The dark green dial is set in a 38 mm gold-toned PVD case under a domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating, with a date on the dial and 5 bar of water resistance. The dark brown Bridle leather strap fits the 20 mm lugs and completes the earthy palette.
