Brown leather is what stops an all-black Naos dial turning into eveningwear. It concedes that the watch will mostly be worn on a Tuesday.

Sternglas is a Hamburg design brand, founded in 2016 and now carried by more than 550 retail partners, and the Naos is the watch that got it there. A reduced dial, printed markers, no ornament, one date.

This build has the high-gloss piano black dial in a polished 316L steel case, 38 mm wide, on brown Premium leather across 20 mm lugs. Inside, a Miyota GR12 quartz movement with a date. A double-domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating covers the dial, the case is rated to 5 bar, and the watch carries a 24-month warranty.

Black and brown was supposedly forbidden once. It has been the most useful pairing in a wardrobe for a long time now.
