NAOS Automatic dark green gold / Bridle 20 black

Gold and dark green is an old library palette: brass lamps, leather spines, deep shelves. Add a black strap and the whole thing turns formal.

The NAOS Automatik carries that palette on the best-known Sternglas design. The Hamburg brand has built the Naos around Bauhaus-inspired reduction since 2016, which here means a green dial with sans-serif markers and nothing else asking for attention.

The case measures 38 mm in stainless steel with a gold-tone finish, holding a dark green dial. The strap is Sternglas's Bridle leather in black, 20 mm at the lugs. A Miyota 8215 automatic provides the time and date, self-winding, hand-windable, with hacking seconds and a 42-hour power reserve, visible through the six-screw exhibition caseback. The crystal is double-domed sapphire with anti-reflective coating on both faces, and water resistance is 5 bar.

Gold case, green dial, black leather. Dressier than its 38 mm footprint suggests, and comfortable under a cuff.
