NAOS Automatic Edition 60 grey silver / Modena 20 brown

Brown leather beneath the gray dial of the Naos automatic Edition 60 is a warmer proposition than it sounds. The two colors have no obligation to each other, so neither has to compete.

The Naos took a German Design Award in 2024, and the Naos Automatik an iF Design Award in 2020, recognition for a design that consists largely of decisions not to add things. Sternglas has kept the dial reduced since the line launched: printed markers, sans-serif type, a date, nothing else.

Here the gray dial sits in a polished 316L steel case of 38 mm, fitted to a brown Modena leather strap across 20 mm lugs. A self-winding automatic movement drives the hands and the date, under a double-domed sapphire crystal treated against reflection on both sides. The case is water resistant to 5 bar and the watch carries a 24-month warranty.

It is the softest of the Edition 60 builds, and the one most likely to be worn with a jacket that is not a suit jacket.
