Before Bluetooth became the default, this was how a G-SHOCK found the right time anywhere on earth. It reads GPS satellites and radio time signals both, and it was the first to do that inside a shock-resistant full metal case.
MR-G is the flagship G-SHOCK line, introduced in 1996 and assembled at Yamagata Casio on the Premium Production Line by one technician per watch.
The case measures 54.7 by 49.8 mm and 16.9 mm tall, titanium with deep layer hardening beneath a diamond-like coating. A clad guard structure surrounds the crown, keeping it usable while shielding it from impact. A solid titanium bracelet closes on a tight-lock, one-press three-fold clasp. Sapphire crystal, 200 meters of water resistance and Tough Solar charging, with time set from GPS signal reception or terrestrial radio.
A significant watch in the line's history and still entirely capable. For someone who travels beyond radio coverage and wants the time correct without touching a phone.
