Silver is the harder finish to get right. Black hides the joins between components; a bright case shows every transition, every edge, every polished face that does not quite line up.
This is the G-SHOCK MR-G square in its most exposed form. MR-G has been the flagship line since 1996, built at Yamagata Casio on the Premium Production Line by one technician per watch, and the B5000 takes the shape of the original 1983 square as its starting point.
The case runs 49.4 by 43.2 mm and 12.9 mm thick, in titanium treated with a titanium carbide coating that leaves a bright, hard-wearing surface. Hairline and mirror finishes alternate across the bezel and bracelet so the light breaks differently on each face. The dial carries the brick pattern and red accent line that the earliest models used. Sapphire crystal, 200 meters of water resistance, Tough Solar, Multi Band 6, and a tight-lock three-fold clasp on a solid titanium bracelet.
The most legible of the squares in daylight, and the one that shows the finishing work most plainly. It suits a wearer who wants the metal to be visible rather than hidden.
