Japanese lacquer is black in the way that deep water is black. There is color underneath it, and gold and red are the traditional accents used to bring it out.
This G-SHOCK MR-G takes that finish onto the mid-size titanium case. MR-G has been the flagship line since 1996, built at Yamagata Casio on the Premium Production Line by one technician per watch.
The case measures 52.2 by 46.3 mm and 14.7 mm deep, in titanium with deep layer hardening, a titanium carbide coating with partial diamond-like coating, and a diamond-like coated bezel. Gold and red pick out the detail against the lacquer black. A solid titanium bracelet closes on a tight-lock, one-press three-fold clasp. Sapphire crystal, 200 meters of water resistance, Tough Solar power, Multi Band 6 radio calibration and Bluetooth, with a magnetic resistant construction.
Dressier than most of the range and smaller than all of the B2000 cases. It suits a wearer who wants a metal G-SHOCK that reads as considered rather than tactical.
