Lunascope – blue
The moon takes its time. So does a watch with one hand. The Lunascope puts both on the same dial.
Introduced in 2018, the Lunascope was MeisterSinger's first moonphase, and the German brand refused to make it small. An oversized moon fills the upper half of the dial against a dark, star-flecked blue ground, and the display is accurate to within a single day over more than a century of use. Below it sits a quick-set date at six, and above it the collection's real signature: one long hand, no minute hand, no seconds.
This blue version is the purest reading of the idea. The 40 mm stainless steel case wears on a cognac strap with 20 mm lugs, is rated to 5 bar, and holds the MS Luna caliber, a Sellita SW220 base with an integrated moonphase module. The single hand travels a scale marked in hours, halves, quarters and five-minute steps, which MeisterSinger describes as readable almost to the minute.
A watch for people who like looking up. It rewards attention twice, once for the time and once for the sky.
Perfect for: moonphase watch collectors, blue dial astronomy enthusiasts, buyers seeking a mechanical complication with a calm face.
