Kaenos Open Date – petrol
Petrol sits in the space between deep blue and green, a color that refuses to settle. It is the most characterful dial in the Kaenos Open Date lineup.
MeisterSinger designs in Münster and builds in Switzerland, and Kaenos is where that philosophy meets a sports-watch silhouette. The Greek kainos, new, gave the model its name, and an iF Design Award followed in 2025. Two versions exist: one with a large date behind a window at six, and this Open Date, where the date disc turns in full view under the twelve with nothing covering it.
The deep petrol dial keeps the printed scale legible without shouting. One hand covers hours, half hours, quarters and five-minute divisions, which is why the brand says the time can be read almost to the minute rather than exactly to it. The 40 mm stainless steel case is rated to 10 bar and joins its H-link steel bracelet through a special integrated lug, with a Sellita SW200 automatic inside, adapted to drive a single long hand.
Dressy in low light, sporting in daylight, and consistently more interesting than a plain blue.
Perfect for: petrol and teal dial hunters, collectors of unconventional time displays, weekend-to-weekday steel bracelet watches.
