Kaenos Open Date – ice blue
An ice blue dial changes with the light all day, pale and almost white indoors, distinctly blue in the sun.
That shifting quality suits the Kaenos Open Date, MeisterSinger's contemporary integrated-bracelet design and the winner of an iF Design Award in 2025. The name comes from the Greek kainos, meaning new or fresh, and the model was pitched as a fresh start for a German brand that has been arguing for the single hand since 2001. Its distinguishing feature is the date: not a window, but an exposed rotating disc read openly beneath the twelve.
Everything else on the ice blue dial is time. A single needle-shaped hand crosses a scale of double-digit numerals, half-hour markers, quarter markers and five-minute divisions, and reading it takes a glance rather than a calculation. The 40 mm stainless steel case, integrated by a special lug to its H-link steel bracelet, carries a 10 bar rating and a Sellita SW200 automatic modified for the single-hand configuration.
A light, summery dial on a genuinely sturdy watch, and an easy answer for anyone tired of black and blue.
Perfect for: ice blue dial enthusiasts, buyers seeking an unusual daily wear automatic, fans of modern German watch design.
