HORIZON Mid Leather Model Stone-clamped (Diamond) [VM06-C02SDD-KCR]

At about 74 grams the MINASE HORIZON Mid on leather nearly disappears on the wrist, which is a useful quality in a watch that has diamonds on it.

This is the Stone-clamped execution of the HORIZON Mid, the diamond-set version of the compact case MINASE introduced in 2017. The underlying architecture is unchanged: case-in-case construction places the movement in its own inner case behind a curved dial and an index ring, with a second case wrapped around everything, and the exterior alternates hairline satin against mirrors raised by Sallaz hand-polishing. MINASE reports that a single part can take up to ninety minutes to polish, which is the reason those mirror planes read as flat rather than merely shiny.

Worn here on a leather strap, the case measures 36.8 mm wide, 45.6 mm long including the lugs and 12.0 mm thick, for a total weight of around 74 grams. The crystal is sapphire with a non-reflective coating and there is a sapphire display back. Driving it is the self-winding MINASE calibre KT8001, a Swiss ETA 2671 and Sellita SW100 base finished and decorated by MINASE, with a date.

Water resistance is 5 atm, adequate for rain but not for swimming. Stone setting plus leather gives this one an evening register the bracelet versions do not have.
