Sternglas draws on Bauhaus thinking across its range: reduction, clarity, sans-serif type, and the modernist maxim that form follows function. In the HAMBURG collection that thinking is applied to an instrument dial, with bolder numerals, a fine outer minute scale, luminous hands, and a screwed caseback engraved with a map of the city.

The new graphite dial is satin-finished and lightly domed, mounted in a 42 mm silver-tone stainless steel case with 20 mm lugs. A quartz movement provides the time and date; double-domed sapphire with double anti-reflective coating sits above, and the case is rated to 5 bar. The SuperSlim bracelet is steel rather than leather, 316L at 2.2 mm thick with a brushed steel clasp, which keeps the watch flat against the wrist.

All metal, all one tone, and the least fussy way to wear this dial.
