HAMBURG new graphite silver / Field 20 yellow

A yellow nylon strap under a graphite dial is a summer decision. The Sternglas HAMBURG takes it well, because the dial was drawn for contrast in the first place.

The HAMBURG collection borrows from seafaring measuring instruments: numerals printed at every hour, a hairline minute scale around the rim, luminous hands, high contrast throughout. Sternglas builds it at 42 mm so none of that detail has to be crowded, and lists new graphite as a regular catalog color rather than an edition.

The dial is graphite satin and gently domed, held in a 42 mm silver-tone stainless steel case with 20 mm lugs. A quartz movement runs the time and date, under double-domed sapphire with anti-reflective coating on both faces, rated to 5 bar. The Field strap is woven nylon just 1.5 mm thick in yellow, light enough that the watch nearly stops registering on the wrist, and it clips on and off with the tool-free quick-change system.

Easy to wash, quick to swap, and hard to look grim in.
