Gold Milanese mesh takes the Sternglas HAMBURG Chrono Edition Vintage in a single direction and commits to it. The dark green dial becomes the only cool note on an otherwise entirely warm watch.

The HAMBURG collection is Sternglas's homage to the city where it is based, and its dials are drawn from the instruments of seafaring rather than from dress watchmaking: bold Arabic numerals, a fine minute scale at the edge, Luminova on hands and indices. The Edition Vintage reworks that in a 1960s idiom with a gold-toned case.

This version fits the 42 mm case and dark green dial to Milanaise 20 in gold: 316L stainless steel mesh, 2.5 mm thick, fastened by a sliding clasp that can be set to any length rather than to fixed holes or links. It attaches tool-free. The chronograph is a Seiko/TMI VK64 meca-quartz, keeping time by quartz while driving the chronograph mechanically, giving a hand that sweeps in five steps per second and snaps back on reset. Date at six, 24-hour register, double-domed sapphire with double anti-reflective coating, 5 bar.

Mesh sits flat and cool against the skin, and it makes a 42 mm chronograph feel considerably less like one.
