HAMBURG Chrono dark blue silver / Field 20 signalorange

Signal orange nylon against a dark blue dial is not a subtle choice, and the Sternglas HAMBURG Chrono does not pretend otherwise. This is the outdoors version of the watch.

The HAMBURG collection takes its character from the instruments of seafaring and from the city Sternglas has worked in since 2016. Numerals are bold, a fine minute scale rings the dial edge, Luminova covers the hands and markers, and the screwed caseback is engraved with a map of Hamburg showing the Alster, the Reeperbahn, the Speicherstadt and the Landungsbrücken.

The Chrono runs a Seiko/TMI VK64 meca-quartz movement: quartz timekeeping paired with a mechanically driven chronograph, so the elapsed-seconds hand sweeps in five steps per second and snaps back to zero on reset. A 24-hour register and a date at six complete the layout, with roughly three years from a battery. The 42 mm stainless steel case carries a dark blue dial and is rated to 5 bar, under double-domed sapphire with double anti-reflective coating. The Field strap is 1.5 mm nylon in signal orange on 20 mm lugs, fitted tool-free.

Nylon dries fast and costs nothing in comfort. Good for boats, bikes and long weekends.
