Founded in Hamburg in 2016, Sternglas built the HAMBURG line as a homage to its home port, taking the visual language of navigational instruments as its starting point. That shows in the bold numerals, the fine minute track around the edge and the Luminova on the hands and markers, and in the screwed caseback engraved with the city's map, the Reeperbahn and the Speicherstadt among the landmarks.

The case is 42 mm of 316L stainless steel with a domed satin silver dial behind double-domed sapphire and double anti-reflective coating. The Miyota 8215 automatic runs the show with 42 hours of power reserve, hacking seconds, hand-winding and a date. Water resistance is 5 bar. The 20 mm stainless steel bracelet gives the watch its full weight and a cool, solid feel on the wrist.
