HAMBURG Automatic dark blue bronze / Vintage 20 mocha

Blue and brown is one of the oldest agreements in menswear, and the Sternglas HAMBURG Automatic in dark blue and bronze settles it neatly by arriving on mocha leather from the Vintage strap line.

The HAMBURG collection is Sternglas's homage to its home city, with dials shaped by the logic of navigational instruments: high-contrast Arabic numerals, an outer minute track fine enough to read seconds against, and Luminova where it matters. Turn the watch over and the screwed caseback shows an engraving of Hamburg itself, from the Alster down to the Landungsbrücken.

Here the domed satin dark blue dial sits inside a 42 mm 316L stainless steel case finished in a warm bronze tone, which the mocha leather picks up almost exactly. The movement is the Miyota 8215 automatic, self-winding with 42 hours of power reserve, hacking seconds, hand-winding and a date window. Double-domed sapphire with double anti-reflective coating keeps glare off the dial; water resistance is 5 bar. The Vintage leather strap measures 20 mm at the lugs.

Warm case, cool dial, brown leather between them. It reads dressier than the bracelet versions without becoming formal.
