Blue-gray is a color that changes with the light, which makes it a good choice for a dial surrounded by brushed steel. The GMC-2500D-1A2 is built around exactly that combination.
G-SHOCK's 2500 Series puts the octagonal case around a purely analog dial, drawing on the toughness brief of the 1983 DW-5000C. The GMC-2500D is the metal-clad model on a bracelet: a stainless steel bezel over a case of resin and bio-based resin, with a stainless steel band. The resin case keeps the shock structure intact, and it is why this is not counted among G-SHOCK's Full Metal watches.
Here the brass dial is a muted blue-gray, framed by a horizontal hairline finish that carries from the bezel across the bracelet. A small seconds subdial and a color-matched three-cell date window keep the layout calm, and the minute hand is magnetically held to absorb impact. The one-touch three-fold clasp adjusts from 150 to 205 mm. 43.8 mm wide, 12.9 mm deep, 138 grams. Module 5757 runs two years on a CR1025, with 200 m water resistance.
Softer than black and less expected than silver, the most distinctive of the steel-bracelet references.
