A steel bracelet changes how a watch wears more than almost anything else. On the GMC-2500D-1A it turns G-SHOCK's new analog octagon into something closer to a classic steel sports watch.
The 2500 Series is the G-SHOCK octagon built around an analog-only dial, a reinterpretation of the practical toughness of the original DW-5000C. The GMC-2500D is the metal-clad version on a bracelet: a stainless steel bezel over a resin and bio-based resin case, attached to a stainless steel band. It is not part of the Full Metal line, since the case itself remains resin.
This reference has a black brass dial, a small seconds subdial and a matching three-cell date window. A horizontal hairline finish runs from the bezel across the bracelet, which secures with a one-touch three-fold clasp and adjusts from 150 to 205 mm. The minute hand is magnetically mounted for shock absorption. Case 46.7 by 43.8 mm, 12.9 mm deep, 138 grams on the bracelet. Module 5757, two years on a CR1025, 200 m water resistance.
The black dial and brushed steel make this the most versatile reference in the series.
