G-SHOCK GM-2100C-5A - Metal-Clad Octagon
Almost every G-SHOCK ships on resin. This one ships on cloth, and the change does more to the watch than a strap swap usually does.
The GM-2100C is a metal-clad 2100 Series model, stainless steel bezel over a resin case, fitted to a beige woven band. The 2100 shape is thin enough that a fabric strap sits flat instead of propping the watch up, which is why the combination works here and rarely does on a larger G-SHOCK.
The bezel is steel over a black and silver face, and the case measures 49.3 by 44.4 mm at 11.8 mm deep, 72 grams. Two hands run over the LCD with the hand shift feature clearing them on demand, Neobrite on the markers, and a double LED lighting both halves of the dial. Module 5611 covers 31 time zones, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer and five daily alarms, with a three-year battery. 200 m water resistant.
Reads more military than sport, and takes a beating either way.
Perfect for: cloth strap G-SHOCK watches, beige military style watches, thin steel bezel field watches.
