Most watches use yellow as an accent. The GAC-2500-9A uses it for everything, and the result is the most cheerful G-SHOCK octagon yet.
This is part of the new 2500 Series, where G-SHOCK sets the octagonal case around an analog-only dial for the first time, reinterpreting the practical toughness of the original DW-5000C. A small seconds subdial and a date wheel replace the familiar digital screen, and the seconds hand carries the Shock Resist mark on its tail.
Case, dial and band are all in saturated yellow, the case in bio-based resin and the band made with biomass plastics. Silver-toned hands and raised indexes read well against it, and the three-cell date window takes the dial color so the face stays uncluttered. Like the rest of the series it uses a magnetically held minute hand to absorb impact. 44.5 by 46.7 mm and 12.7 mm thick, 47 grams. Module 5757 gives two years on a CR1025, a 30-minute stopwatch and auto-calendar, plus 200 m water resistance.
Hard to lose in a bag and hard to ignore on a wrist, which is rather the point.
Perfect for: yellow G-SHOCK watches, colorful analog sports watches, high-visibility watches for water sports.
