Dark green has a way of making a resin watch look like equipment rather than a toy, and the GAC-2500-3A leans into exactly that.
It belongs to G-SHOCK's 2500 Series, the first line to put the octagonal case around a dial with no digital display at all. Casio set out to reinterpret the toughness of the original DW-5000C for a reader who just wants the time at a glance, so the dial carries a small seconds subdial, a date wheel and very little else.
Case, bezel, dial and band are all in a deep olive green, with the case in bio-based resin and the band made with biomass plastics. Raised bar indexes and parallel-sided hands are finished in white for contrast against the green, and the date sits in a three-cell window matched to the dial. Inside, the minute hand is magnetically mounted so it can give under impact and settle back. The case is 44.5 mm wide and 12.7 mm thick, and weighs 47 grams. Module 5757 delivers two years on a CR1025, a 30-minute stopwatch and a full auto-calendar, with 200 m water resistance.
A field-watch color in a shape that is anything but, and easy to wear every day.
