G-SHOCK GA-2100-4A - Analog-Digital Octagon
Red is the hardest colour to put on a watch, because there is no version of it that reads as neutral. The GA-2100-4A does not try.
It is one of the original 2019 releases in G-SHOCK's 2100 Series, the line that made the octagonal bezel and the sub-12 mm case a mainstream option. Carbon Core Guard does the structural work: a carbon-reinforced resin case stiff enough to protect the module without the padding thicker G-SHOCKs need.
Red throughout, case, band and face, in a 45.4 mm case that is 11.8 mm deep and weighs 51 grams. Skeleton hands sit over a small LCD, with a double LED lighting both. Module 5611 covers 31 time zones, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer and five daily alarms, runs three years on a pair of cells and holds fifteen seconds a month. 200 m water resistant.
The loud one in the founding trio, and the one that dates least because it never pretended to be subtle.
