DIVIDO Rubber Model [VM14-RBKGBK-SSD]

Black rubber, black dial, and steel finished to a mirror. Then the light shifts, a silver-gray starburst surfaces in the middle of the dial, and the whole watch reorganizes itself. This is the MINASE DIVIDO at its most covert.

The DIVIDO case is assembled from stacked polyhedrons whose luster changes with the viewing angle, split horizontally by a partition that carries the four lugs above the case body. Look at it face on and you catch the inner structure and the movement in glimpses at the top, the bottom and both flanks. MINASE has been building it this way since 2013, with a revised version arriving in 2018.

Reference VM14-RBKGBK-SSD sets the gradated black dial on a black rubber strap, which brings the weight down to about 91 g from the 134 g of the bracelet version. The case is unchanged: 40.6 by 40.6 mm, 11 mm thick including the sapphire crystal, with the self-winding caliber KT7002 and date inside, built on a Swiss ETA 2892 / Sellita SW300 base and finished by MINASE. 5 atm, for rain and splashes.

The version to wear on a weekend, or anywhere a steel bracelet feels like too much.
