BERLIN sepia gold / Heritage 20 black
Sepia sits between champagne and light brown, and it is the reason this dial looks older than the brand that makes it.
Sternglas is a Hamburg company founded in 2016, and the BERLIN is its railway line: the 1846 Hamburg to Berlin connection, remembered by an engraving of the Berliner Bahnhof on the caseback. The dial keeps to Bauhaus reduction with one exception, a day-of-week indicator that sits beside the date.
That pairing is handled by a Miyota GM02 quartz caliber, which offers the day in English or German and runs about 36 months per battery. The sepia dial and gold hands are set in a 38 mm gold-tone stainless steel case with 20 mm lugs, under double-domed sapphire with anti-reflective coating on both surfaces, rated to 5 bar. The strap is black Heritage cowhide, alligator-embossed, 4 mm thick and tool-free to change.
Black leather sharpens the warm dial, which makes this the dressier of the two sepia configurations.
Perfect for: sepia dial watches, gold-tone quartz dress watches, watches with a weekday display.
