29er Pointer Date — White Dial / Black Pigskin
White dial, light blue flange, black leather. It is a restrained combination that lets the one unusual thing on this watch do the talking: a date read by a hand rather than through a window.
Mühle-Glashütte builds the 29er Pointer Date around a center-mounted date hand that completes a single rotation in 31 days, its dark blue half-moon tip indicating the date scale on the rehaut. The 29er range takes its name from the 29er sailing dinghy, the youth class that leads to the Olympic 49er, and has served since 2006 as the brand's introduction to Glashütte watchmaking.
Applied indices and Super-LumiNova sit on the white dial, with central seconds. The stainless steel case measures 42.4 mm across, 12.2 mm high and 49 mm from lug to lug, on a black pigskin strap with a steel pin buckle at 109 grams. The SW 221-1 in Version Mühle specification is regulated in Glashütte to run between zero and eight seconds fast per day, holds 41 hours, and is visible through the sapphire exhibition back. Anti-reflective sapphire, screw-down crown, 10 bar.
On black leather this reads more classical than sporty. It works under a shirt cuff and at a dinner table.
Perfect for: classic black leather watch buyers, pointer date fans, Glashütte watchmaking gifts.
