29er Pointer Date — White Dial / Coffee Brown Canvas
Look closely at the longest hand on this dial and you will find a small dark blue half-moon at its tip. That marker is the date, and it creeps around a 31-day scale on the flange at a pace slow enough that you never catch it moving.
Mühle-Glashütte gives the 29er Pointer Date its character with that display. The 29er family, named after the sailing dinghy that leads to the Olympic 49er class, has run since 2006 as the brand's introduction to Glashütte watchmaking, built around legibility, applied indices, luminous hands and a colored inner ring instead of a rotating bezel.
Here a white dial is framed by a light blue rehaut carrying the date scale, with central seconds and Super-LumiNova on the markers and hands. The stainless steel case measures 42.4 mm wide and 12.2 mm high, spanning 49 mm between lugs, on a 22 mm coffee brown canvas strap with a steel pin buckle. The SW 221-1, Version Mühle automatic runs 41 hours and can be watched through the exhibition caseback. Anti-reflective sapphire and a screw-down crown take it to 10 bar.
Brown canvas keeps the whole thing informal. A good first mechanical watch and an interesting hundredth one.
Perfect for: analog calendar enthusiasts, coffee brown strap wearers, first fine watch buyers.
