The scale printed on the inner flange of this watch is divided finely enough to read to one eighth of a second. That is a strange thing to require and a satisfying thing to own, and it explains what the 29er Chronograph is really for.

Mühle-Glashütte built the 29er in 2006 as an introduction to Glashütte watchmaking, naming it after the 29er sailing dinghy that carries young crews toward the Olympic 49er class. The chronograph sits at the head of that family and is the one member to run Mühle's own MU 9413 caliber, built on a Swiss base and extensively reworked in Glashütte, with the traditional Glashütte three-quarter plate on show through the exhibition caseback and 62 hours of reserve.

The dial is white, with applied indices, Super-LumiNova on hands and markers, small seconds and a date at four o'clock. The steel case runs 42.4 mm wide and 14.2 mm tall, spanning 49 mm between the lugs, and it arrives on nautical blue canvas with a steel pin buckle at 122 grams. Anti-reflective sapphire, screw-down crown, 10 bar.

Bright, highly legible and mechanically serious. It wears like a sports watch and reads like a measuring instrument.

Perfect for: precision timing enthusiasts, white dial sports chronographs, nautical canvas strap wear.
