29er Casual — Brown Dial / Dark Brown + Anthracite Calf Leather
A brown dial is a commitment. It will not disappear the way black does, and it does not take every strap. This 29er Casual from Mühle-Glashütte makes the argument with a soft, velvety brown that warms and darkens as the light moves across it.
The 29er family exists because of a sailboat. Mühle named it after the 29er dinghy, the class that prepares young sailors for the Olympic 49er, and developed the watch in 2006 as a comparable way into Glashütte watchmaking. The Casual is the flattest case in the current Mühle collection, standing under 10 mm, which is unusual for a 42.4 mm automatic with a date.
Applied indices and Super-LumiNova sit on the brown dial, central seconds run from the middle, and the date reads at three o'clock. The stainless steel case measures 49 mm lug to lug and pairs with a dark brown calf leather strap backed in anthracite velour suede on a steel pin buckle, 84 grams all in. The SW 300-1, Version Mühle automatic runs 56 hours and can be watched working through the sapphire exhibition back. Anti-reflective sapphire above, 10 bar of pressure resistance throughout.
Warm, flat and unfussy. It suits tweed, denim and everything between.
Perfect for: brown dial watch collectors, suede strap wearers, slim weekend automatics.
