29er Big — Black Dial / Nautical Blue Canvas

Black dial, blue canvas: high contrast on the face, color at the wrist. It is the combination that makes the 29er Big look most like the instrument it descends from, and Mühle-Glashütte has been making instruments a great deal longer than it has been making watches.

The line is named after the 29er sailing dinghy, the youth class that feeds the Olympic 49er. Mühle developed it in 2006 as an introduction to Glashütte watchmaking, and the Big takes the same design to 42.4 mm. Legibility governs everything: applied markers, luminous hands, no rotating bezel to read around.

Here the black dial gives maximum contrast, with the date at 3 o'clock and Super-LumiNova on markers and hands. The stainless steel case is 11.3 mm deep and 49 mm lug to lug, with 22 mm quick-release spring bars carrying the nautic blue canvas. The automatic SW 200-1, Version Mühle offers 41 hours, stop-seconds and a rate Mühle states plainly: zero to a maximum of eight seconds fast per day.
