29er Big — White Dial / Coffee Brown Canvas
Coffee brown canvas takes the white-dialed 29er Big somewhere land-going. It is the same 42.4 mm steel watch as its blue-strapped sibling and a completely different proposition on the wrist, which is rather the point of a Mühle-Glashütte line built around straps that come off without tools.
Mühle named the 29er after the sailing dinghy that prepares young crews for the Olympic 49er, and introduced it in 2006 as a way into Glashütte watchmaking. The Big is the larger of the two sizes, sharing the smaller model's dial layout, its high-contrast legibility and its refusal to fit a rotating bezel.
The white dial keeps applied indices with Super-LumiNova, luminous hands and a date window at 3 o'clock. The steel case stands 11.3 mm tall, with a screw-down crown, sapphire on both sides and 10 bar of pressure resistance. Its automatic caliber, the SW 200-1, Version Mühle, holds 41 hours. Mühle names the Swiss base openly, then fits its patented woodpecker neck regulation and its own rotor before finishing and regulating the movement in Glashütte.
Casual, warm and legible at a glance, and a good first watch in a larger size.
Perfect for: brown canvas strap watches, white dial daily wear, larger cased German automatics.
