29er — White Dial / Steel Bracelet
Put the white 29er on its steel bracelet and it stops being a strap watch with options. Steel on steel, 36.6 mm across, water resistant to 10 bar: this is the Mühle-Glashütte configuration that answers for a whole week without changing.
Mühle named the 29er after the sailing dinghy that trains crews for the Olympic 49er, and built it in 2006 to do the equivalent job in watch terms. The firm itself dates to 1869, when Robert Mühle began making precision measuring instruments for the watch companies of Glashütte, and it has stayed in the family for six generations.
The white dial keeps its applied indices and Super-LumiNova, with the date at 3 o'clock. The stainless steel bracelet closes on a folding clasp and measures 190 mm; the case is 10.4 mm deep, with anti-reflective sapphire in front and an exhibition back showing the SW 200-1, Version Mühle. Swiss in origin, regulated and finished in Glashütte, it offers 41 hours of running time and stop-seconds for setting to the second.
The most versatile of the four builds, and the most substantial on the wrist in the reassuring sense.
Perfect for: steel bracelet automatics, one-watch collections, 36 mm daily wearers.
