29er — Mint Dial / Dark Brown Tiber Leather
Green and brown is a landscape palette, and it works on the wrist for the same reasons it works outdoors. On its dark brown Tiber strap, the mint-dialed 29er is the gentlest-looking configuration Mühle-Glashütte offers in this case.
The 29er has been the Glashütte firm's introduction to mechanical watchmaking since 2006, and it is named after a sailing dinghy: the 29er is the youth class that leads to the Olympic 49er, a boat you graduate from rather than settle for. Mühle liked the parallel enough to keep it.
Mint dial, applied indices, Super-LumiNova on markers and hands, date at 3 o'clock. Stainless steel case of 36.6 mm by 10.4 mm, anti-reflective sapphire, screw-down crown, 10 bar, exhibition back. The 18 mm Tiber strap in dark brown closes on a pin buckle. The SW 200-1, Version Mühle automatic runs 41 hours and hacks its seconds; its fine regulation is Mühle's patented woodpecker neck, named for the shape of the spring that locks the index arm in place.
A quiet, warm-and-cool combination for someone who has already owned the black one.
Perfect for: green dial brown strap watches, tonal outdoor styling, second automatic watch purchases.
